Ridding your garden of Japanese beetles without chemicals

Japanese beetles can create chaos in your lawn and garden by destroying everything in sight. While there are chemicals that can take care of the problem, you may not want them all over your veggies. Here are some quick and easy tips to help rid your garden of Japanese beetles:

Plant stuff they hate
On the outer part of your garden, plant some garlic and chive seeds. Japanese beetles aren’t too fond of either of those and it should help get rid of them. You’ll also have some fresh garlic for around the kitchen and some chive to go with your baked potatoes. It’s a win-win situation.

Remove dead plants
Part of your problem might be that there’s just too much around for them to eat. Japanese beetles love feasting on dead plants so if you get rid of those you can help get rid of the beetles.

It’s in the bag
There are Japanese beetle traps called Bag-a-Bug that work extremely well in killing them off. The bag lures the beetles in with pheromones and they die while they’re there. Once the bag is full you can just put another one up.
